Dopo la mezzanotte, quando il rock diventa racconto
C’è qualcosa di particolare nei dischi che nascono di notte. Non solo per una questione di atmosfera, ma per quel tempo sospeso in cui le idee smettono di chiedere permesso e prendono forma. L’album omonimo degli After Midnight 00.01, sembra arrivare esattamente da lì, da quelle ore in cui il silenzio attorno diventa spazio creativo.
Pubblicato a Gennaio 2026 per l’etichetta Sorry Mom!, con distribuzione Artist First, il disco rappresenta il debutto ufficiale su lunga distanza della band nuorese, pur essendo frutto di musicisti navigati, con anni di esperienza live e in studio alle spalle.
La band arriva da Nuoro ed è attiva dal 2017. Il nome è legato al concetto di ripartenza e trasformazione, oltre che alle tante prove notturne che hanno accompagnato la nascita del progetto. Dopo un lungo periodo come cover band, il gruppo ha iniziato a costruire un repertorio originale, passando attraverso il palco e una serie di singoli pubblicati a partire dal 2024, fino alla scelta di raccogliere tutto in un album completo, uscito all’inizio del 2026.
A dare voce e corpo a questo esordio sono Mario Fancello alla voce e Andrea Ledda alla chitarra, affiancati in studio da Antonio Senette al basso e Francesco Masuri alla batteria. Le registrazioni si svolgono al Whistle Recording Studio di Simone Orrù e restituiscono una fotografia sonora compatta e coerente. La formazione attuale vede oggi il contributo di Nicola Ceccato al basso e Andrea Burattin alla batteria.
La musica degli After Midnight 00.01 affonda le radici nell’hard rock e nel rock blues, senza però l’ansia di replicare modelli del passato. La tradizione è un punto di partenza, non un recinto, e lungo il disco emerge con chiarezza la volontà di usarla come linguaggio per raccontare qualcosa di personale.
Scent apre l’ascolto con una chitarra sudista che introduce un riff hard blues diretto ed essenziale. La linea vocale si muove su coordinate bluesy, senza forzature, mentre gli interventi solisti restano sempre al servizio del brano e del suo equilibrio complessivo.
Golden Wheels cambia passo grazie a un groove più elastico, attraversato da accenti funk che convivono con una struttura solidamente hard rock. Con Benzodiazepine emergono contrasti più marcati, tra una linea melodica tesa e riff decisi, sostenuti da una sezione ritmica compatta e reattiva.
You si muove in territori classic rock, con richiami riconoscibili ma mai invadenti, mentre This Song Is A Lie guarda agli anni Novanta, restando sospesa tra forma ballad e una maggiore intensità elettrica. Confused è un mid tempo costruito su un riff essenziale, che trova nel finale in crescendo una chiusura naturale e coerente.
Dirty Blues parte in acustico e si sviluppa gradualmente in un hard blues in cui la voce sceglie una strada espressiva più contemporanea, evitando il citazionismo diretto e cercando una propria misura.
Broken Bones colpisce per immediatezza e spontaneità, seguito da Unemotional Song, un hard blues caldo e trascinante, che scorre con naturalezza fino alla chiusura affidata a White, ballad elettroacustica che abbassa le luci e accompagna l’ascolto verso un finale equilibrato e coerente.

Nel suo insieme After Midnight 00.01 restituisce la sensazione di un disco nato senza fretta, costruito più sull’urgenza di raccontarsi che sul bisogno di stupire. È un lavoro che scorre come una lunga notte, fatta di energia, chiaroscuri e momenti di raccoglimento, in cui l’hard rock e il blues diventano strumenti espressivi più che semplici riferimenti stilistici.
Quando arriva il silenzio finale, resta l’impressione di aver assistito a un vero punto di partenza: non un traguardo, ma l’inizio di un percorso che, proprio come dopo la mezzanotte, lascia intuire possibilità ancora tutte da esplorare.

After Midnight, when rock becomes a story
There is something special about albums born at night. Not just for the atmosphere, but for that suspended time when ideas stop asking for permission and take shape. The self-titled album by After Midnight 00.01 seems to come precisely from there, from those hours when the surrounding silence becomes creative space. Released in January 2026 on the Sorry Mom! label, with distribution by Artist First, the record marks the band’s official full-length debut, even though it is the work of seasoned musicians with years of live and studio experience behind them.
The band comes from Nuoro and has been active since 2017. Their name is linked to the concept of renewal and transformation, as well as the many late-night rehearsals that shaped the project. After a long period as a cover band, they began to build an original repertoire, performing live and releasing a series of singles starting in 2024, until deciding to compile everything into a full album, released in early 2026.
The album is brought to life by Mario Fancello on vocals and Andrea Ledda on guitar, accompanied in the studio by Antonio Senette on bass and Francesco Masuri on drums. The recordings, made at Simone Orrù’s Whistle Recording Studio, deliver a compact and cohesive sound. Today, the lineup features Nicola Ceccato on bass and Andrea Burattin on drums.

Golden Wheels changes pace with a more elastic groove, accented with funk elements that coexist seamlessly with a solid hard rock structure. Benzodiazepine presents stronger contrasts, alternating tense melodies with decisive riffs, supported by a tight and reactive rhythm section.
You moves through classic rock territory with recognizable but never intrusive references, while This Song Is A Lie looks to the ’90s, balancing between a ballad form and stronger electric intensity. Confused is a mid-tempo track built on an essential riff, reaching a natural, cohesive crescendo at the end.
Dirty Blues begins acoustically and gradually develops into hard blues, with vocals choosing a more contemporary expressive path, avoiding direct homage and seeking their own measure.
Broken Bones stands out for immediacy and spontaneity, followed by Unemotional Song, a warm and driving hard blues that flows naturally into the closing track, White, an electro-acoustic ballad that dims the lights and guides the listener toward a balanced, coherent finale.
Overall, After Midnight 00.01 gives the impression of an album born without hurry, built more on the urgency to tell a story than the need to impress. It unfolds like a long night, full of energy, chiaroscuro, and moments of reflection, where hard rock and blues become expressive tools rather than mere stylistic references.
